The weekend culminates on Saturday 8th November when the Sheffield Oratorio Chorus performs Verdi's magnificent Requiem in Sheffield Cathedral. The concert, on the eve of Remembrance Sunday, is dedicated to the dead of two world wars. This being the centenary of the outbreak of the first world war, the concert will include a short act of remembrance when poems will be read and candles lit as well as a display of dedications to individual victims of the conflicts.
Marking their return to performing in Sheffield Cathedral following it's refurbishment, the Chorus will be joined by the Manchester based Northern Chamber Orchestra, described as one of the best chamber orchestras in Britain.
Soloists Debra Morley, Margaret McDonald, James Edwards and James Oldfield complete the line up under the baton of Oratorio Chorus Musical Director, Alan Eost.
Tickets for what promises to be a memorable concert are now completely SOLD OUT and will not be available on the door.
