2014 Albion Underground audience member
In 2014, Albion’s sold-out musical installation in Castleton’s Peak Cavern in Derbyshire, was heralded as “absolutely magical – an amazing idea”. Now they return to the scene of this triumph, to fill the legendary ‘Devil’s Arse’ with their heavenly singing, leading their audience on a subterranean musical adventure. The choir adds an extraordinary extra dimension to the space, and the space in turn transforms the music-making, leaving an indelible impression on all who experience it.
As an audience member said in 2014, “Albion made the cave experience unforgettable, and the cave made the Albion experience unforgettable… the Cavern was made for Albion!”
Stories and legends abound in the caves, mirroring the tales and myths told by Albion’s folksongs. With new music being written especially for these 2015 performances and a compelling fresh programme of movement, music, and storytelling, Albion Underground II is not to be missed.
